Tigerdo news

The three youngest members of Tigerdo received their Mon 5th Kyu gradings in mid October.

Bradley, Emma and Jacob (pictured at right with Sensei Russell) all trained very hard and successfully passed their first ever Judo grading.

Everyone at Tigerdo hopes they will maintain their interest and gain many more gradings in the years to come.

Heath Young played in the Olympics on August 15 and had the following results

Round of 32 vs Juan Jose PAZ of Bolivia - won - Wazari: 1 Koka:3 - contest time 5:00 minute

Repechage vs Ludwing Manuel Ortiz of Venuzuela - loss by ippon - contest time 1:10 minute

Round of 16 vs Yordanis Arencibia of Cuba - loss by ippon - contest time 43 seconds

The Cuban eventually won the bronze medal with the silver going to Slovakia's Jozef KRNAC and the gold to Japan's Masato UCHISHIBA

Overall Heath placed 12th which is a commendable performance given he was suffering a severe shoulder injury and was unable to train for nearly 4 weeks prior to the games. He also re-injured the shoulder during the tournament.

Congratulations to Heath, Terry and everyone associated for getting there.
